PrefaceThe aim of this eBook is to provide a comprehensive overview of theinnovative educational initiative known as CitEuroPass.By integrating online modules, frugal innovation projects, and practicalapplications, CitEuroPass vividly portrays the essence of being a Europeancitizen in today%u2019s interconnected digital world.In an environment with cultural diversity, environmental challenges, andglobalisation, the countries of Europe offer diverse cultures and opportunities.However, a critical question remains unanswered: how can the youth ofEurope truly understand, grasp and comprehend the essence of Europeancitizenship? CitEuroPass acts as a response, presenting a collaborative, long-term initiative designed to bridge this educational and societal gap.Emerging from dialogues among researchers and students within the#European #Research #Community (ERECO) network, CitEuroPass aims to integrate an understanding of European citizenship into the academicworld. Fundamentally, this project employs an innovative %u201clearning by doing%u201d pedagogical approach to cultivate not only knowledge but also the essential skills and attitudes vital for European citizens. By engagingstudents from diverse academic backgrounds in international teams, the initiative promotes experiential learning through real-world projectmanagement scenarios focused on frugal innovations in biotechnology. From these experiences, nine prototypes will emerge, each associated with a corresponding business model.6
